EL SEGUNDO, CA — On February 16, the Los Angeles Kings assigned winger Richard Clune to the Manchester Monarchs of the American Hockey League, their primary minor league affiliate.
Clune, 22, was assigned by the Monarchs to the ECHL’s Ontario Reign on February 10 before being recalled by the Kings the next day after they lost forward Brandon Segal, who was claimed off of waivers by the Dallas Stars.
Clune played in two games during his brief stint with the Kings, tallying two assists, his first points in the National Hockey League, with seven penalty minutes.
The 5-10, 198-pound native of Toronto is expected to return to the Kings following the Olympic break.
