EL SEGUNDO, CA — There wasn’t anything out of the ordinary to report from the Los Angeles Kings’ practice facility today as the team practiced for the second time since their eight-day hiatus began on December 18.
Nevertheless, Frozen Royalty was at the Toyota Sports Center today to get all the interviews with the players, including Dustin Brown, Drew Doughty, Michal Handzus, Ryan Smyth, Corey Elkins, along with head coach Terry Murray.
In other news, the Kings recalled forwards Corey Elkins and Oscar Moller from the Manchester Monarchs of the American Hockey League, their primary minor league affiliate.
Elkins, 24, was recalled on emergency basis on December 14, and made his NHL debut at Edmonton on December 15. The 6-3, 216-pound native of West Bloomfield, Michigan scored his first NHL goal on December 17 at Calgary.
Elkins has also played in 31 games with the Monarchs this season and has a team leading twenty points (eight goals, twelve assists).
Moller, 20, has played in nine games with the Kings this season, scoring a goal and adding an assist. The 5-10, 186-pound native of Stockholm, Sweden was most recently recalled by the Kings on December 6.
In 26 games with the Monarchs this season and is tied for the team lead with nine goals and is tied for second in points with nineteen.
