EL SEGUNDO AND LOS ANGELES, CA — On January 3, despite having suffered a very frustrating 7-6 overtime loss to the Nashville Predators at Staples Center in Los Angeles, the Los Angeles Kings had to quickly recover from the sting of that defeat so they could meet and have some fun with fans at Tip A King 2015, held across the street at the LA Live Event Deck.

The Kings announced that the event has raised a record $300,000 (and they are still counting receipts) for the Kings Care Foundation.

Each year at Tip A King, players, coaches and broadcasters sign autographs and take photos with fans. But every year, something happens that stands out more than others, and this year’s event was no exception, thanks to defenseman Alec Martinez, a ten-year-old fan, and a photo of the two that has spread pretty widely on social media.

LOS ANGELES — Despite the fact that the Los Angeles Kings suffered yet another shutout loss, this time, a 2-0 loss to the Philadelphia Flyers on February 1, the team”s players and coaches walked across the street from Staples Center to the Event Deck at LA Live to meet and greet fans at the annual Tip A King event, a fundraiser benefitting the Kings Care Foundation.

Some feared that the players and coaches might have a bit of difficulty, not only in being in a good mood, but also with fans who might be rather surly after another bad loss. But the mood at Tip A King 2014 was upbeat and positive.

CULVER CITY, CA — After a storm passed through the Los Angeles area on Friday and part of Saturday, the skies were bright and mostly clear on Sunday, November 13, when the Los Angeles Kings held their annual fundraiser, benefitting the Kings Care Foundation, providing “…educational and recreational opportunities for children throughout Greater Los Angeles,” along with Children’s Hospital Los Angeles, and the LA Kings Bloodmobile.

Tip-A-King 2011 was held at Sony Pictures Studios in Culver City, California.

Enthusiastic fans of all ages and backgrounds roamed the Sony Pictures Studios lot, site of the former Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer (MGM) studios, meeting Kings players, coaches, alumni and broacasters, getting autographs, and more.

Frozen Royalty was there, this time, not to dig for a hard-hitting story. Instead, we took a bunch photos of the event. We will not publish them all here, but here are the best of the bunch. Read more of this post
