LOS ANGELES — On a night when the Los Angeles Kings were looking forward to facing their opponent considerably more than usual, it looked like they were going to fall flat on their faces.
Indeed, after a third period blitz led the St. Louis Blues to a 5-2 victory over the Kings on December 16 in St. Louis, the Blues jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the first period—they had scored seven unanswered goals since the game in St. Louis. and were well on their way to an easy win.
But Jeff Carter, Marian Gaborik and Anze Kopitar had other ideas. In fact, they combined for four goals and nine assists to lead the Kings’ come back, in a 6-4 win over the Blues on December 18, at Staples Center in Los Angeles.
Carter scored a goal and added three assists, while Gaborik scored two goals and tallied two assists.
Kopitar set a new career-high for points in one game with five, on a goal and four assists.
You can watch video below of the post-game interviews that is not available anywhere else with Gaborik and Kopitar, along with head coach Darryl Sutter’s post-game press conference.
