LOS ANGELES — Tyler Toffoli scored a goal and added an assist, Tanner Pearson scored what proved to be the game-winning goal at 2:58 of the third period, and goaltender Jonathan Quick put in a stellar 40-save performance to lead the Los Angeles Kings to a 2-1 victory over the Minnesota Wild at Staples Center in Los Angeles during a matinee affair on October 19.
The Wild controlled the tempo of the game and owned a huge territorial advantage throughout, bottling up the Kings in their own zone time and time again, but they could only solve Quick once.
The Wild outshot the Kings by a dominating 41-16 margin, marking the second straight game in which the Kings allowed more than 40 shots on goal, not to mention being outshot by more than double.
On October 16, the St. Louis Blues outshot the Kings, 43-18.
