LOS ANGELES — After winding its way through Slovenia, Slovakia, Russia, Europe, across Canada and the United States as Los Angeles Kings players, coaches, front office and team staff got their days with the Stanley Cup, celebrating their 2014 Stanley Cup Championship, hockey’s version of the Holy Grail has returned to Southern California where more of the Kings’ staff are getting their time to spend with the Stanley Cup.

The Kings are also taking the most revered trophy in sports all over the Los Angeles area. But one stop in particular probably means more than most.

On September 10, Bailey, the Kings’ mascot, and LA Kings Ice Crew members Kelly and Chelsea (the rookie, not the veteran; there are two Ice Crew members named “Chelsea” this season) lifted the spirits of patients and their families when they brought the Stanley Cup to Children’s Hospital Los Angeles (CHLA), the primary benefactor of the Kings and their Kings Care Foundation.

CHLA patients, many of whom are suffering from serious diseases or injuries, along with their families, and CHLA staff, were able to have photographs taken with Bailey, the Ice Crew and the Stanley Cup.

You can view photos of the event below.

For those who might be interested in learning where the Kings Care Foundation’s money goes, this story about the 2010 Kings Fantasy Camp, which benefitted CHLA, goes into detail about that: Los Angeles Kings Fantasy Camp: Doing The Right Thing To Start 2010.

The Kings also brought the Stanley Cup to CHLA back in 2012, after they won the 2012 Stanley Cup Championship, the first championship in what was then the 45-year history of the franchise.
