In other Los Angeles Kings-related news, looking to the future, the Kings have announced that the 2013 Development Camp for their prospects will be held “next week,” according to a statement by the team.
If tradition holds, the Kings will likely have a four-day camp, with the daily schedule featuring two morning workouts, one for forwards, and a second for defensemen and goalies, followed by an afternoon session for the entire group.
The Kings have not released specific dates and times.
Development Camp Notes
- All of the Kings’ 2013 draft picks will be in camp, except for fourth round pick (118th overall) forward Hudson Fasching. A Kings spokesperson said that Fasching will be in summer school at the University of Minnesota. - In a bit of a surprise, right wing Tyler Toffoli will participate.
- A positive for the Kings is that left wing prospect Maxim Kitsyn is expected to participate, and the Kings are looking to sign him to a contract. For more on Kitsyn, see Frozen Royalty’s LA Kings Take Some Risks In 2010 NHL Entry Draft.

What do you think the Kings are going to do with the spot left by Scuderi leaving? Do they rely on their prospects like Campbell or Deslauiers or do they sign some journeymen defenseman?
Hello, Gann. I hope your summer is going well. Have you heardwhy Linden Vey will not be present? I was sure hoping to see him try and take the fourth line center spot for the time being. The kid just puts up points. And from what I understand, he does play with a bit of a mean streak. I was just curious as to why he will not be at the Kings’ camp.
Like some of the other older prospects, he’s considered “graduated” from development camp.
Thanks for the reply. Much appreciated. I love checking in on your site for your takes. Have a great summer, check with you soon.
