On June 19, the Los Angeles Times reported that Los Angeles Kings defenseman Drew Doughty is being investigated for sexual assault for an incident that allegedly occurred “…earlier this year,” according to the Times.
The Los Angeles Country District Attorney is currently investigating the allegations.
Doughty’s attorney, Craig Renentzky, told the Times that he expects the allegations to be rejected by the District Attorney’s office.
TMZ.com is reporting that Doughty will be cleared by the District Attorney’s office.
It should be noted that TMZ.com does not have the greatest reputation in the world for accuracy and credibility in its reporting, so their report, although it could very well be accurate, should be taken with the proverbial grain of salt.
