Frozen Royalty Audio And NHL Video: LA Kings Fail To Show Up In Blowout Loss To Sharks

LOS ANGELES — The Los Angeles Kings’ hold on the eighth and final playoff spot in the Western Conference is as shaky as ever after an embarrassing 5-1 loss to the San Jose Sharks in front of a sparse, announced crowd of 16,212 fans at a very quiet Staples Center on January 20.

Patrick Marleau and Ryan Clowe scored two goals each for the Sharks, who took an easy 3-0 lead after one and period never looked back during a very easy win over the flat, uninspired Kings.

Wayne Simmonds scored the lone goal for the Kings to open the second period, but that would be one of the handful of quality scoring chances the Kings would generate the entire night.

  1. oh man the power play ….. im at a loss for words ….. coach of san jose is right ..”we are striving to be deadly – not just hope we score” … yes kings can learn something from this mentality …. but yes we need a talent infusion, or should i say skill infusion, from outside the organization to make it happen …. i know kopitar will never be traded unless its for another big time center …. so kopitar and brown for nash is what i would do in a dreamworld …. and lol we would save 2 million bucks …. hell, then we could still go after kovulchuk ….. lol kovulchuk and nash on the same line ………. lol im getting an erection just thinking about it
