Frozen Royalty Audio and NHL Video: LA Kings Hit 20-Win Mark With 3-2 Victory Over Phoenix

LOS ANGELES — Oscar Moller and Jack Johnson scored in regulation time and Justin Williams scored the game-winning goal in the shootout to lead the Los Angeles Kings to a 3-2 victory over the Phoenix Coyotes in front of 15,259 fans at Staples Center on Thursday night.

The Kings are now 20-10-3 on the season. They are the first Western Conference team to reach the twenty-win mark and are just one point behind the San Jose Sharks and the Washington Capitals for most points in the National Hockey League standings.

The Kings are also 7-3-1 since veteran left wing Ryan Smyth went down with an undisclosed upper body injury.

NOTES

  • The Kings have won three straight and are 6-0-1 in their last seven (season high for point streak is eight games: 6-0-2).
  • The eight rounds was the longest shootout in Kings history (previous high was seven).
  • The Kings are 16-3-3 when scoring first and 14-0-0 when leading after two periods.
  • The Kings are 8-1-1 vs. Pacific Division.
  • The Kings are 10-1-3 in one-goal games.

  1. Thanks for posting all this media Gann. As much as I like Rich’s blog, hearing the audio gives us more insight than reading quotes only. Great win last night. The boys gutted it out.
