EL SEGUNDO, CA — On August 11, the Los Angeles Kings signed defenseman prospect Drew Doughty to a three-year, entry-level contract.
Financial terms were not disclosed.
The 18-year-old defenseman was selected by the Kings in the first round (second overall) in the 2008 National Hockey League Entry Draft on June 21, 2008.
The 6-0, 219-pound native of London, Ontario played for the Guelph Storm of the Ontario Hockey League last season and was ranked first or second among draft eligible skaters by the various publications and scouting services.
