EL SEGUNDO, CA — On July 18, the Los Angeles Kings signed forward prospect David Meckler to a three-year, entry-level contract.
Financial terms were not disclosed.
Meckler, 21, scored 23 goals and added 13 assists for 36 points with 24 penalty minutes in 76 regular season games last season with the Manchester Monarchs of the American Hockey League.
In four playoff games with the Monarchs, Meckler scored a goal and added an assist.
The 6-0, 184-pound native of Highland Park, Illinois was selected by the Kings in the fifth round (134th overall) of the 2006 National Hockey League Entry Draft.
