Frozen Royalty Audio and NHL Video: Richardson, Simmonds Help Lead LA Kings to 6-3 Win Over Ottawa

LOS ANGELES — Randy Jones, Brad Richardson and Wayne Simmonds scored a goal each and Drew Doughty scored the game-winner late in the second period to lead the Los Angeles Kings to a 6-3 win over the Ottawa Senators in front of an announced crowd of 14,997 fans at Staples Center on Thursday night.

Justin Williams added two goals late in the third period to seal the victory for the Kings, who were generally outplayed by the Senators for the majority of the game.

Simmonds goal came on a penalty shot at 17:24 of the first period. Read more of this post

LA Kings Claim Defenseman Randy Jones Off Re-Entry Waivers; Place Alec Martinez On Injured Reserve

EL SEGUNDO, CA — On October 29, the Los Angeles Kings claimed defenseman Randy Jones off of re-entry waivers from the Philadelphia Flyersand they placed defenseman Alec Martinez on the injured reserve list, retroactive to October 5, due to a high ankle sprain.

Jones, 28, has played in six games this season with the Adirondack Phantoms of the American Hockey League, recording one assist with six penalty minutes.

The 6-2, 200-pound native of Quispamsis, Newfoundland played in 47 games last season with the Flyers, scoring four goals and adding four assists for eight points with 22 penalty minutes. He also played in six playoff games with the Flyers and he played in two regular season games with the Phantoms. Read more of this post
