EL SEGUNDO, CA — Almost three months have passed since the Los Angeles Kings won the first Stanley Cup Championship in the 45-year history of the franchise, but the celebration continues unabated, with the trophy traveling all over the world with Kings players, coaches, team and front office staff.

Celebrating right along with everyone else in the organization are the Kings broadcasters, each having a long history of their own with the franchise.

The Voice of the Kings, television play-by-play announcer Bob Miller, leads the way, having just completed his 39th year behind the microphone with the Kings. Read more of this post

LA Kings, Stanley Cup Bring Smiles, Excitement To Patients And Families At Children’s Hospital Los Angeles – Photos, Video

LOS ANGELES — Since the Los Angeles Kings won the Stanley Cup for the first time in the 45-year history of the franchise on June 11, 2012, the storied trophy has been on a whirlwind tour.

From Kings team/staff parties that same night, to the Championship Parade and Rally on June 14, to Las Vegas, Venice Beach, back to Las Vegas for the National Hockey League Awards, to Pittsburgh for the 2012 NHL Entry Draft, back to Southern California’s Hermosa Beach, a party hosted by Hall of Fame broadcaster Bob Miller…you get the idea.

The Stanley Cup will continue to have a heavy travel schedule for the rest of the summer. But odds are that it will not have a more meaningful stop than it did on June 28, when it lifted the Read more of this post

Los Angeles Kings Win 2012 Stanley Cup, Turning Dreams Into Reality, The Unthinkable Into Fact

LOS ANGELES — After the final horn sounded on Monday night, after a 6-1 score lit up the scoreboard at Staples Center in Los Angeles, the dreams became real, the unthinkable became fact…

…the Los Angeles Kings had won the 2012 Stanley Cup, the first championship in the team’s 45-year history, closing out the Eastern Conference Champion New Jersey Devils in six games.

As Kool and the Gang’s Celebration, and Queen’s We Are The Champions played in a loop over the arena’s PA system, Kings players, coaches and management, along with their families and Kings staff, shook hands, embraced, kissed, laughed—all in rather jubilant fashion, during an on-ice celebration.
