Take Metro’s Stadium Express From Union Station To Dodger Stadium For Stadium Series Game

LOS ANGELES — On January 8, Metro, which operates bus, subway and light rail lines throughout the Los Angeles metropolitan area, announced that the “Stadium Express” will shuttle hockey fans between Union Station in Downtown Los Angeles (see map below) and Dodger Stadium for the Stadium Series game featuring the Anaheim Ducks facing off against the Los Angeles Kings on January 25, 2014 (6:30 PM face-off).

General parking at Dodger Stadium for the Stadium Series game costs—hold onto your hats—$20.00, and goes as high as $50.00 for passenger cars. At those exorbitant prices, why pay for fuel, parking and fight traffic when you can take public transportation that is, in many ways, more convenient?

Return Trip Will Be Impacted By Repair Work For LA Kings Fans Planning To Ride Metro Expo Line To Saturday’s Game 3 vs. St. Louis

Metro Expo Line riders who will be attending Game 3 of the first round playoff series between the Los Angeles Kings and the St. Louis Blues on Saturday, May 4, at Staples Center, should be advised that Metro will be replacing a support pole that was taken out on April 4 by a driver who was allegedly under the influence of a controlled substance.

The driver was headed the wrong way on Flower Street, just south of Washington Boulevard, when he hit a pole that supports the overhead catenary wires that provide electrical power to the trains, as well train control signal heads that were also in the vicinity (see Metro’s photos of the aftermath here).
