2013 Sunset Sip Event To Benefit The Guidance Center In Long Beach

EL SEGUNDO, CA — On August 1, the Los Angeles Kings, The Guidance Center, and the Los Angeles Kings Alumni Association announced that the third annual Sunset Sip event, hosted by Kings former right wing and current television color commentator Jim Fox, will be held on Friday, September 6, 2013, from 6:30 PM to 9:30 PM, at the offices at Keesal, Young and Logan, in Long Beach, California.

Proceeds from the event will benefit The Guidance Center, which “has been leading children and families to a brighter future for more than 60 years,” according to a statement. “They provide quality mental health care to more than 2,000 children and families each year in the communities of Long Beach, Compton/Lynwood, San Pedro and Avalon on Catalina Island.”

“The Guidance Center provides comprehensive mental health treatment to the community’s most disadvantaged children and their families struggling with mental illness and abuse, leading them toward a positive and productive future,” the statement continued. “The Guidance Center envisions a community where all children have the help they need to be healthy and happy. “

LOS ANGELES — Since the Los Angeles Kings won the Stanley Cup for the first time in the 45-year history of the franchise on June 11, 2012, the storied trophy has been on a whirlwind tour.

From Kings team/staff parties that same night, to the Championship Parade and Rally on June 14, to Las Vegas, Venice Beach, back to Las Vegas for the National Hockey League Awards, to Pittsburgh for the 2012 NHL Entry Draft, back to Southern California’s Hermosa Beach, a party hosted by Hall of Fame broadcaster Bob Miller…you get the idea.

CULVER CITY, CA — After a storm passed through the Los Angeles area on Friday and part of Saturday, the skies were bright and mostly clear on Sunday, November 13, when the Los Angeles Kings held their annual fundraiser, benefitting the Kings Care Foundation, providing “…educational and recreational opportunities for children throughout Greater Los Angeles,” along with Children’s Hospital Los Angeles, and the LA Kings Bloodmobile.

Tip-A-King 2011 was held at Sony Pictures Studios in Culver City, California.

Enthusiastic fans of all ages and backgrounds roamed the Sony Pictures Studios lot, site of the former Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer (MGM) studios, meeting Kings players, coaches, alumni and broacasters, getting autographs, and more.
