LA Kings Come Up Just Short At Colorado on NHL Video

Right wing Alexander Frolov deflected a point shot by defenseman Drew Doughty at 18:39 of the third period to left the Los Angeles Kings into a 3-3 tie with the Colorado Avalanche at the end of regulation play, but Avs right wing Chris Stewart scored the shootout game-winner, leading Colorado to a 4-3 win over the Kings at Pepsi Center in Denver on March 24.

The Avs jumped out to a 3-1 lead after one period, getting a big assist from the Kings, who took ten minutes worth of penalties and allowed two power play goals. Read more of this post

Jonathan Bernier Shows Skill, New Attitude In Brief Stint With LA Kings

EL SEGUNDO, CA — For much of the 2008-09 season, Los Angeles Kings goaltending prospect Jonathan Bernier was not a happy camper.

First, he was upset that he was unable to crack the Kings lineup out of training camp, even though an injury contributed greatly to that.

Not long after that, when goaltender Jonathan Quick was called up from the Manchester Monarchs of the American Hockey League, the Kings’ primary minor league affiliate, Bernier pouted.

“When we called up Quick, [Bernier] did not work hard in practice,” Kings President/General Manager Dean Lombardi said in an earlier interview. “He thought this was going to be an easy ride to the NHL.” Read more of this post

Frozen Royalty Audio and NHL Video: Oilers Help LA Kings Continue Slide Into Olympic Break

LOS ANGELES — After a 4-2 loss at Anaheim at February 8 and a 3-2 shootout loss to the lowly Edmonton Oilers on February 11 at Staples Center, the Los Angeles Kings look like they are sleepwalking their way into the Olympic Break.
