Los Angeles Kings Sign Center Prospect Brayden Schenn

EL SEGUNDO, CA — On March 4, the Los Angeles Kings signed center Brayden Schenn to a three-year, entry-level contract.

Financial terms were not disclosed.

Schenn, 18, has scored 29 goals and has tallied 56 assists for 85 points with a +31 plus/minus rating and six power play goals in 54 games this season with the Brandon Wheat Kings of the Western Hockey League. He leads the Wheat Kings in scoring and assists, and he ranks third on the team in goals.

The 6-1, 192-pound center, a native of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, is the captain of the Wheat Kings, was selected by the Kings in the first round (fifth overall) of the 2009 National Hockey League Entry Draft, made his NHL debut in Vancouver on November 26 after signing a One-Day NHL Regular Season Amateur Tryout Agreement. EL SEGUNDO, CA — On November 26, the Los Angeles Kings signed center Brayden Schenn to a one-day, National Hockey League Regular Season Amateur Tryout Agreement. They also placed center Andrei Loktionov on injured reserve.
