Frozen Royalty Audio and NHL Video: LA Kings Steal A Win At Anaheim
February 24, 2011 1 Comment
The Ducks were the better team, and by a large margin, in the first period and much of the second. Although things evened out in the third, the Kings played poorly enough that the argument could be made that they stole two points in the standings in this one.
Ryan Smyth and Anze Kopitar scored first period goals for the Kings, sandwiched around a goal by Ducks star forward Teemu Selanne.
Corey Perry scored on a deflection in the second period to tie the game, but goal scoring machine Willie Mitchell scored his second goal of the season to give the Kings their margin of victory.
Jonathan Quick got the start for the Kings in goal, making 25 saves. He outplayed Anaheim netminder Curtis McElhinney, who stopped 15 shots.
