“Bob…” Murray isn’t in denial. What he was trying to do was protect his players during that press conference—an attempt to deflect criticism and to avoid having to criticize them himself at that particular time. He has a plan and motives, like most coaches, when they speak to the media. At present, it appears that Murray’s tact is to accentuate the positive. We’ll see how well that works.
