Good. So it wasn't just me that would prefer Guilano on the PP this season rather than Purcell. That's saying a lot. Ha remember when Guilano attempted a penalty shot?

"The WORST! Tim Whitehead, god bless him, just throws live lobsters the ice and lets them have at it. Those kids all they ever eat is lobster. As a GM, you know in your heart, Maine Lobster never has to work for anything, they've been told all their lives they're the best. When you see a kid who's been brought up on smug protein, [you say to yourself], 'Oh boy.' Ask any scout, any GM will tell you, succulent will only take you so far. If you want a lobster that will go into the trenches for you, you'll take Massachusetts lobsters every time. Teddy's learning that now."

Regarding DL's words...

It's nice to hear the patience, the understanding, the TLC. I'll never question Lombardi's judgement of talent or character, nor his commitment to the development of young players. (Teddy's still young, isn't he?) Let's hope TP gets that confidence going.

Got to be careful with the Boyle comparisons. Remember, BB was not drafted by Lombardi. TP, on the other hand, is a Lombardi acquisition. I think that counts for a lot. Ya know, the butt tattoo factor. Which means that maybe Purcell gets more leeway, more chances, more of an opportunity to figure it out.

Great stuff re Purcell eventually playing for a good team or a bad team. Love it.

I appreciate you publishing this series of interviews with DL, but gosh it's made for some awfully awkward reading. All the parenthetical emendations supplied in the quotes, and the repeated use of nearly identical quotes... I feel lost somewhere between a straight-up transcription, a translation, a broken record, and something that wants to be a journalistic story.

Having said that, I'll admit DL is not the easiest speaker to capture in a way that's fit to print. And I'm sure there are countless other Kings fans like myself who tend to cling on his every word, so getting it sort of raw like this is has its charm. I just wish it didn't come off so messy.

Thanks for listening to my critique. Best of luck with future stories.
