EL SEGUNDO, CA — On November 19, the Los Angeles Kings activated defensemen Alec Martinez off of injured reserve and have assigned him to the Manchester Monarchs of the American Hockey League, their primary minor league affiliate.

Martinez, 22, played in one game for the Kings this season, making his National Hockey League debut on October 3. He suffered an ankle injury during practice two days later and was placed on the injured reserve list on October 29, retroactive to October 5.

The 6-1, 208-pound native of Rochester Hills, Michigan scored eight goals and added fifteen assists for 23 points with 42 penalty minutes in 72 games with the Monarchs last season.<
