LOS ANGELES — Jonathan Quick was outstanding—he played his best game in goal this season and Wayne Simmonds scored his third goal in the last three games to lead the Los Angeles Kings to a 2-1 shootout win over the high-flying Chicago Blackhawks in front of a sell-out crowd of 18,118 fans at Staples Center on Saturday night.

Anze Kopitar and Jack Johnson scored in the shootout for the Kings, while Quick stopped Blackhawks star forwards Jonathan Toews and Patrick Kane. Read more of this post

Former LA Kings, Montreal Canadiens Great Rogie Vachon Speaks About Career, Exclusion From Hockey Hall Of Fame

LOS ANGELES — Many hockey fans in the Los Angeles area have at least heard of Rogie Vachon. They may know that he was the best goaltender ever to wear the jersey of the Los Angeles Kings. But few know of his accomplishments with the Kings and with the Montreal Canadiens prior to his arrival in Southern California.

Even fewer know that Vachon’s accomplishments rank him among the greatest goaltenders to have ever played the game, yet he continues to be denied the honor of being inducted into the hallowed halls of the Hockey Hall of Fame (HHOF).

LA Kings: Brayden Schenn Becomes A King For A Day; Loktionov Goes On Injured Reserve

EL SEGUNDO, CA — On November 26, the Los Angeles Kings signed center Brayden Schenn to a one-day, National Hockey League Regular Season Amateur Tryout Agreement. They also placed center Andrei Loktionov on injured reserve.
