Nice article. Highlights how Murray is pretty much working with the hand he was dealt. Lombardi seems to have everyone prepped and ready for his next disasterous move or waste of money to the point that making no moves may be better than Cloutier, McCauley, Preissing, etc.....

Go Dean, we have faith that you can finally make a move that won't be laughed at around the league.

Good work on the interview. I think it highlights the fact that he only has control of the players who are here, right now. I think his and Lombardi's comments about the players needing to improve doesn't preclude them going out and getting a scorer. It just means that they don't want the core players who are here pushing themselves less because they hope someone's going to pick up the slack. Some fans seem to think that the two are mutually exclusive, when in reality the Kings are only going to make the jump if the current players improve *and* they get scoring help. Just getting a big scorer won't help, because the other teams in the conference aren't standing pat.

Hi. I'm Terry Murray, head of sales at Lombardi Motors. I know you all dream about driving off a car lot in your brand new BMW, but I'm here to tell you we're polishing and waxing our reliable 2010 Chevy Nova right now! It'll look great! It'll sparkle in the Southern California sunshine like anything. With more wax on the surface, and a daub of grease on the bearings (and even a little on the door latch) you'll look and feel great. And when you add in the ScotchGurad on your wrinkle-free Monsanto seat covers, and those sharp new color coordinated floormats, well, everyone will be impressed with your new purchase. here at Lombardi Motors, we don't waste time and money worrying about new technology and precise engineering. Fine tuning to us means a really impressive in-dash radio. And this year, we're adding a CD player and with the hi tech Zune! Our 2010 Nova is a rock solid investment. Just ask our service manager Stuart Smalley. You'll look marvelous! So if you desire a product that looks sharp, at a cost thousands less than a snooty European sedan that has all that under the hood excellence, come see us at Lombardi Motors. We've been serving Southern California for nearly three years, and believe me, we know that what you want is a really good wax job! Ask for me, Terry Murray, the guy who "knows" our product was much improved last year. Just look at that picture of me behind the sales bench. Yeah, we got our asses handed to us by Phoenix that game 6-2, but we looked good doing it [not]! So remember, Lombardi Motors, where we try to wring more out of less than any other operation in town!
