EL SEGUNDO, CA — On January 22, the Los Angeles Kings assigned goaltender Jonathan Bernier and right wing Kevin Westgarth to the Manchester Monarchs of the American Hockey League. They also announced that forward Brad Richardson has returned to the Kings after his conditioning assignment with the Monarchs.
Bernier, 20, was the backup goaltender during the Kings’ recent three-game road trip that concluded on January 21. He did not appear in any of the games.
Westgarth, 24, played in the last two games, making his National Hockey League debut at Minnesota on January 20. He did not record a point in either game.
Richardson, 23, played in three games with the Monarchs, scoring a goal and adding two assists for three points.
In nine games with the Kings this season, Richardson has recorded one assist with seven penalty minutes. The 5-11, 184-pound native of Belleville, Ontario has missed the last 22 games due to a severe cut on his foot.
