LaBarbera’s Season Over

Los Angeles Kings goaltender Jason LaBarbera’s season ended earlier than expected today when he underwent surgery to repair a sports hernia.

LaBarbera had been diagnosed with a groin strain. He will miss the remainder of the season. Goaltender Erik Ersberg will get the bulk of the work for the rest of the season.

Center Derek Armstrong has resumed skating and is hoping to play on Thursday against Ottawa.

Sorry, I’ve not been following the Kings much this season, but isn’t Cloutier the Kings’ #1 right now with Ersberg as the “backup”? I mean, this isn’t exactly what the Kings planned, with Cloutier being paid orders of magnatude more than Ersberg…

  2. Gann Matsuda says:

Actually, it would seem that Ersberg will, for all intents and purposes, be the #1 goalie with LaBarbera out for the season.

Ahh, Clouts just can’t win… And I mean that in every sense of the word.

Cloutier really needs to retire. Now.
