Kings Quiet So Far
February 26, 2008 7 Comments
With the National Hockey League trade deadline about an hour away, the Los Angeles Kings have been very quiet so far, and it does not look like they will make much noise at all.
In Tuesday’s edition, the Los Angeles Times reported that Kings defenseman Rob Blake had been asked to waive his no-trade clause, but that he would only agree to a trade to the Colorado Avalanche.
But likely throwing a wrench in the works in a deal sending Blake to Colorado is that the Avs today have acquired in deadline deals defenseman Adam Foote from the Columbus Blue Jackets and defenseman Ruslan Salei from the Florida Panthers. It seems highly unlikely that the Avs would be in the market for a third veteran defenseman.
Nevertheless, anything can happen at the trade deadline, and deals are often announced hours after the deadline passes, so stay tuned…

Trades will come. We will be up on that draft stage with some regularity in June!
I don’t expect the Kings to be involved in a lot of deals at the deadline. One or two at most. I think Blake remains with the Kings.
Thank you for the updates, Gann.
Looks like they didn’t do one GD thing today. Are you telling me that DL couldn’t have at least gotten a 5th rounder some some of the aging trash on the roster?
BOOOOOOOOO!
Remember, deals are often announced hours after the deadline passes, so you may be jumping the gun here.
I hope you’re right Gann, I hope you’re right.
Brad Stuart to Detroit for a 2nd and 4th per tsn.
